Blue Socks drops high-scoring affair to JEKA – Breda, 18-13

Ten hits weren’t enough for Blue Socks as it lost a shootout, 18-13 in seven innings, to JEKA – Breda on Friday at Veenendaal. Mark Verheij had two extra-base hits for Blue Socks . He doubled in the second inning, homered in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Christian Tebrunsvelt got the win for JEKA – Breda despite allowing 11 runs over 6 2/3 innings. Christian struck out none, walked six and gave up 10 hits. Arnout Pellen, Sander Schapendonk, Bart Schrauwen and Christian helped lead JEKA – Breda. They combined for eight hits and 11 RBIs.

Koen Van Dillen was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
